I am Claire Bowers, a psychotherapist and supervisor (CTA, PTSTA-P).

I am a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy, British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, UK Association for Transactional Analysis, and the International Transactional Analysis Association, and I adhere to their respective codes of ethics and professional practice.

 

What data I collect

If you contact me via my website, email, or phone, I may collect:

  • Your name

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Any information you choose to share

If you enter into therapy, I also collect:

  • Contact details and date of birth

  • GP and emergency contact details

  • Brief clinical notes relevant to our work

 

How your data is used

Your data is used to:

  • Respond to enquiries

  • Provide psychotherapy services

  • Meet legal, ethical, and professional obligations

The lawful basis for processing is the provision of a therapeutic contract and, for health-related data, the provision of health care under UK GDPR.

How your data is stored

  • Clinical records are stored securely using GDPR-compliant systems (including Heidi Clinical).

  • Administrative data may be stored on secure, password-protected platforms such as Wix and Dropbox.

  • All data is retained securely and only accessed when necessary.

Records are kept for 7 years after the end of therapy and then securely deleted.

 

Confidentiality

Therapy is confidential. Information is only shared where required by law or if there are serious concerns about safety. Wherever possible, this will be discussed with you.

I attend regular clinical supervision. Any discussion of client work is anonymised and confidential.

 

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Request corrections

  • Request restriction or deletion where appropriate

Requests will be responded to within one month.
